Cocktail hat/fascinator Workshop

Make your own fashionable fun headpiece for the races, wedding or cocktail party.  Discover techniques for assembling feather pieces - I will be demonstrating how to make flowers, feather trims, sinamay trims, ways with veiling, crinoline and then how to put it all together on a base.
 
$70 for a kit, which includes everything needed to make a headpiece or fascinator  - base with comb, veiling, feathers, fabric and lots of extras eg: crinoline, sinamay, commercial flowers, which are also included in the price, also morning and afternoon tea and of course tuition.  Please bring your own lunch and sewing equipment - scissors, thimble, pins and needles and only if you have the following -rotary cutter, ruler and cutting mat.

Blocked Felt for Winter

 

Learn the skill of blocking felt using traditional wood hat blocks and steam to make a hat for winter.

 

$100 for a kit, which includes tuition, equipment (including use of wooden hat blocks) and materials.  Morning and afternoon tea supplied.  Please bring your own lunch and sewing equipment - scissors, thimble, pins and needles and a felt hood or capeline (can be purchased from tutor on the day).

Fabric Hats

Workshop summary

Make your own fabulous fabric hat using traditional millinery techniques. This is a beginning pattern making and construction course, giving participants instruction on how to draft a pattern and construct a fashionable hat that not only looks great but also fits perfectly.

Participants

All levels of experience welcome in this class, however basic machine sewing skills needed.

From:      9.30am to 4pm including 1 hour for lunch

Georgeous Trimmings for Hats, Bags and Clothing

Workshop summary

This workshop is entirely devoted to trimmings and the wonderful effects that can be achieved using ribbons, fabrics, feathers, veiling and more. From silk and ribbon roses and bows to curling and cutting feathers into shape, participants will be encouraged to experiment with combinations and start to build their own library of ideas that can be used as a resource for future projects.          All Welcome.
