Workshop Title: Fantastic Foundation Hats
Duration of Workshop: 5 days
Workshop summary
A dramatic profile hat with a very large brim can stop a crowd in its tracks! This workshop is about making your own fantastic foundation hat or sculpture from military buckram, using traditional millinery techniques including pattern making, blocking and wiring the edges, participants construct a rigid frame or foundation to create a unique shape. Also covered in this course are instruction on how to cover the foundation with fabric and how to put it all together including how to make creative trims such as bias silk roses and fabric bows.
Participants
All levels of experience welcome in this class, however basic machine sewing skills needed.
